Each borough has a member of parliament who votes in the national government, and a local council that collects taxes and provides essential services. But the boroughs are about far more than politics. Ask a Londoner where they live, and nine times out of ten they will not say ‘London’, but ‘Croydon’, ‘Islington’, ‘Kensington’ or ‘Greenwich’....
