I teach my child English: It’s a go-to-the-park day! / English for kids
Kids love to be outside. No need to worry that they will get bored. There are so many things to do – to run after a kitty, to shoo a flock of pigeons, to dig their little fingers into the sand in the sandbox, to have a go on the slide and swing! Parents need to keep up the pace and probably to update their English vocabulary – to be able to respond in every possible situation.
On the stroll
When with our children we use a lot of imperative (at least in the first few decades of their lives). While you are on the walk, you can say the following:
идем гулять – we’re going outside, let’s go for a walk
идем гулять в парк – let’s go play in the park
смотри под ноги – watch/mind your feet!
осторожно, бордюр/яма – watch out the curb/hole!
скользко, смотри не упади – it’s icy, mind you don’t slip
осторожно, ступенька шатается/сбита – look out, that step’s not safe
нельзя это трогать! – you can’t touch that!
фу, кака! – it is yucky! kaka! eww, gross!
не гладь эту бродячую собаку – don’t pat / stroke that stray dog!
don’t step in thе poo! – осторожно, тут какашки!
не бери песок в рот – don’t put the sand into your mouth!
не суй эту дрянь в рот! – don’t take that rubbish into your mouth!
