This rapper explains the reason behind choosing his stage name, saying that the dog “bites to lock. The dog is too stupid to lose. And they’re outlawed in Dade County. They’re basically everything that I am. It’s been a constant fight.” And he is the dog, he is Pitbull.

Armando Christian Pérez (born January 14, 1981), better known by his stage name Pitbull, is an American rapper. He grew up in Miami and was raised only by his mother as his parents got divorce when he was just a kid. However, after being kicked out of his house by his mother because of his involvement in drug dealing business, he spent his life with a foster family in Roswell, Georgia. His parents were first-generation Cuban immigrants who didn’t let their son forget about his culture. They required him to memorize the works of Cuban poet José Martí, and Pitbull understood the power of words right away.
