I teach my child English: How to make your child speak English? / English for kids
Kids are very good at differentiating between languages. My three-year-old tot has his mother speaking English to him, father – Russian, and he goes to a daycare where they speak Ukrainian. He’s doing just fine. But as for answering me in English - that’s the real problem because the exposure is not enough.
I wanted to speak English exclusively to my son, but I was afraid of isolating my husband because he doesn’t always understand me. So I’m trying to get into a schedule of speaking English during the day while my husband is at work several days a week and then changing back to Russian when he comes home.
