Chocolate melts at just below body temperature so it melts in your mouth. This is why chocolate is so obviously a bad material for making teapots7, hence the phrase “as useless as a chocolate teapot”!
‘About as useful as a chocolate teapot’ or ‘as good as a chocolate teapot’ can be said about something that is of no practical use. Someone who isn’t very good at their job, playing video games or sports. Relative to anyone useless.
